Come and connect with your body with the earthy medium of clay, and with kindred spirits. Choose to play with air-dry clay, which dries naturally over time, or Sculpey, which can be baked in a regular oven afterwards at home. You can embed small objects into the air-dry clay (feathers, wire, beads, ribbons, small found objects), so feel free to bring them.
We begin the workshop with brief introductions, gentle movement and a grounding meditation. Then Marion will introduce materials and techniques, and we will let our hands follow inspiration, followed by a warm hearted sharing circle to celebrate our creations. Air-dry clay and Sculpey can be glazed and painted once finished. This is an opportunity to make a mother’s day or a birthday gift, make something for yourself or a loved one, or simply discover the childlike wonder of connecting with clay.
Marion is an experienced artist, working in ceramics, mixed media art and painting. She is the founder of the Heart of Us - an organization that fosters genuine connection via creativity, mindfulness and loving kindness. She will be offering a special topic for each of the Inspiration Lab gatherings. Plenty of clay will be provided.
